Bros. Melee

Get ready to pound, stomp, and smash your way to victory in Super Smash Bros. Melee, a game in which the only point is to throw your opponent off the screen. In this game there are lots of different modes, the first two are 1-player either classic or adventure. In classic you fight your way to the top against enemies of varying strength and skill. In adventure you must destroy all on your way to the final battle, with a mix of side scrolling and classic battles. The third is a secret, which you uncover by getting all characters, and beating classic and adventure with all of them. The fourth is a number of fights with requirements like knocking out your opponent in a given time, or fighting on tiny stages as huge characters. In multiplayer you can fight one to three opponents in a heated battle for either: coins, bonuses, point value in a time match, or lives in a stock match. Also, you can smash your way to the top of a four to sixty-four match tournament.

You get 14 characters to start with. Here’s a list: Mario, Bowser, Princess Peach, Pikachu, Yoshi, Donkey Kong (D.K.), Captain Falcon, Fox McCloud, Ness, Kirby, Ice Climbers, Samus Aran, Zelda/Shiek, and last but not least, Link. There are 9 hidden characters so there are a lot of things to do. Even if you do beat the game you can still have fun with it!!!

Paper Mario

The Thousand Year Door

One of the cat’s leading writers likes playing Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door on his Nintendo Gamecube. In Paper Mario you must fight your way through swarms of enemies to find the seven crystal stars. That will open the thousand year door and then you can collect the treasure within. But, what starts out with our hero Mario getting a letter from Princess Peach, who is on vacation in the run-down town of Roughport, soon turns into a full fledged mystery. When Mario arrives he discovers that Princess Peach has been kidnapped and taken to a mysterious place… so you, as Mario, must find the seven crystal stars and free Princess peach from the clutches of the evil X-Nauts…

            This game has a combat system unlike any other, states the cat’s leading writer. To fight you go on a stage against different opponents from weak goombas to a mighty dragon. You must decide each move, whether to pound your opponent in to the ground with a swing of your mighty hammer, or upend them with a well timed jump. Also, you control your partner’s moves either using a head bonk from Goombella or a defense piercing shell spin from Koops. All in all, this game is worth your money as it is great fun for everyone!

Runescape

For those who aren’t familiar with the game Runescape here is a brief overview. Runescape is a massive multiplayer online game (mmog) in which you can customize the way your character looks and upgrade him or her with weapons and armor. As you play the game you can increase you characters level by fighting goblins, giant spiders, dragons, and the other varying species throughout the world. You can also upgrade your character by mining, smelting and hammering different ores into useful items, cutting down trees and making fires is another great way to increase your characters level. It is a great game not only because you can play it forever but also because you can meet your friends there and go on quests together to find a multitude of treasures. As a final summery it is a great game for the young, young at heart, and everyone in between.
